Bio: Suffia Hussain is a dedicated and experienced professional with
over 20 years of working with diverse communities, focusing on
empowering individuals from all ages and backgrounds.
With extensive experience in areas such as domestic abuse, sexual
violence prevention, and youth homlessness, Suffia has cultivated a
deep understanding of the complex challenges faced by vulnerable
groups, with a particular emphasis on tackling violence against
women and girls (VAWG) and promoting youth education and
empowerment.
Suffia runs her own business as a qualified Karate, Self-Defence &
Safety Awareness Coach, equipping individuals with the skills and
confidence to protect themselves and navigate difficult situations.
Alongside this, Suffia is experienced in facilitating ‘difficult
conversations’ on issues including race and extremism, Suffia has a
special interest in addressing the problems and dynamics of online
polarisation, and youth crime. Through the development of targeted
workshops and training programmes, encouraging critical thinking
and creating awareness of many real life issues, she has empowered
countless young people, build confidence and engage positively
within their communities.
With a passion for community engagement and development, Suffia
has been instrumental in fostering partnerships and initiatives that
create lasting change.
In her spare time Suffia volunteers her time as a trustee with
Bradford Youth Development Partnership (Charity, working to support young people)
& isChair with Bradford StrongerTogether (SEN support group working with with parent/carers)
