New VAWG Campaign

The Branch at Jubilee Centre in Huddersfield has launched a new campaign which focuses on the impact which fear of VAWG related incidents has on Women, and gives simple advice that men can follow to help women feel safer. The campaign is designed to start discussions and is part of a wider project which is funded by West Yorkshire Combined Authority Safer Communities Fund.

Would the women in your life say they feel safe?

Whether you’re a woman, a man, a parent, a friend or a neighbour, we all have a role to play in creating communities where women and girls feel safe, respected and supported.

This powerful short film shares the voices and experiences of local people, exploring what safety means and the everyday actions that can make a real difference. It also challenges us all to think about how we can help build a culture of respect and stand against violence against women and girls.

Created as part of our Women’s Safety, Skills and Strength Project, funded by the West Yorkshire Mayor’s Safer Communities Fund through the West Yorkshire Violence Against Women and Girls Strategy, this video is a reminder that creating safer communities is everyone’s responsibility.
