Community Leaders West Yorkshire (CLWY) recently teamed up with StreetGames UK to co-produce the Connected for Change event in Bradford, West Yorkshire.

So many of the powerful conversations centred around co-production, early intervention, and the importance of working with young people rather than doing things to them.

We know from our experience that when young people are involved in co-designing and shaping the support they receive, the impact is of the support is deeper, more relevant, and far more sustainable.

The collaborative event explored the wider work that CLWY members are involved in across the community, — supporting young people’s wellbeing, creating safe spaces, and offering support for those who are often forgotten or defined as “hard to reach”.

Events like this reinforce how essential collaboration between organisations is. When when grassroots and community organisations, youth voices, and strategic partners and public sector partners such as the West Yorkshire Violence Reduction Partnership come together, real change is possible and live can be improved.
